Scan Sync Instructions

Setup

  • Go to www.ci-inc.com/downloads and select one of the Scan Sync Utility installs.
  • Download and run the setup. The first time you run the install it will install the necessary USB serial adapter that is needed.
  • Once installed go to Start, All Programs, Computer Insights, Scan Sync Utility and run the Scan Sync Utility software or just use the shortcut on your desktop.
  • Select the “Options”, “Aministrative Settings”. The password is “admin123”. Please explore the settings by using the help “?” button on the upper right of the window next to the “X”. Just click on it and then select the item you want to know about. The information will be displayed on the bottom of the window. Enter the information as needed.

Using OPN 2001 Data Collector

  • Make sure the Scan Sync software is installed.
  • The OPN 2001 Pocket Memory Scanner makes barcode data collection simple for anyone. Using this scanner is straightforward scan a barcode and it will be stored automatically. When you make a mistake, the lower button allows you to re-scan the barcode in order to remove the item from memory. The device is equipped with a standard USB port which is also used to charge the internal battery.
  • Please do a couple of scans and download the information to the Scan Sync Utility by selecting the “Get OPN Data” button for a test. This will also set the date and time to your computers date and time. This happens every time you download data from the scanner so it will remain accurate.
  • When successfully uploaded you will see the order in the middle box and the detail lines on the bottom grid.
  • You can edit the Order Qty on a detail line by giving focus to this cell and entering a new number.
  • You can delete one or multiple lines by selecting them on the left most column on the grid and then selecting the “Delete” key on your keyboard. If you delete all detail lines for an order then the order will be deleted.
  • The “Submit Orders” button will create an order file that will be created in the directory that you designate as the Orders directory and will be sent by email and or FTP if you set Scan Sync Utility to do this upon submitting an order.
